To the Illini old and new, the Illinois Student Senate is happy to welcome you home to Illinois. We hope that your year is full of excitement, happy memories, and great friendships. Always remember, that the Illinois Student Senate is here to SERVE YOU, and if you have an idea of how to make our campus better, let us know and we can work on it together.

Get involved with the Student Senate

Each year, as a new class of freshman, transfers, and even PhD students arrive on campus, the Illinois Student Senate is looking to bring them on board to share in our campus’ governance. To join and get involved with the ISS fill out this new member application. We are also looking to hire staff members for the student government, if you’re interested in one of those roles, fill out this form. Come to our meetings!

The Illinois Student Senate holds a general assembly meeting every Wednesday. They are at 7 p.m. in the Illini Union Pine Lounge. Meetings are open to the public, and we reserve the first 30 minutes of our general meetings for public comment. This is a great way to meet the Executives and the Senators, and to learn how the Student Senate works and impacts our campus.
