ISS Supports a University Mascot

The Illinois Student Senate, as the "Official voice of the student body" on Wednesday April 13th, voted by a margin 28 in favor, 2 against, 1 abstaining, and supported the findings of the Ad Hoc Committee on the Exploration of University Mascot. The report recommends that University move forward in the search for a mascot. In doing so all stakeholders, including alumni and community members, should have a say in the process. The report stresses inclusivity, transparency, and education. The full resolution and report can be found here.
